Why Us

Diversity & Inclusion

Global Values Statement

Our family of companies is driven by shared values that ensure we are doing what’s right for our clients, our workforce, and our communities around the globe. We seek and value diverse perspectives that reflect the global markets we serve, and remain committed to acting with integrity and advocating for fairness, equality and inclusion.

At OppenheimerFunds, we strive to live by our Corporate Values of Excellence, Integrity, Passion and Collaboration. Diversity and inclusion are embedded in our firm’s value system. We realize the impact of corporate culture on inclusion and remain actively engaged in creating a workplace environment that embraces the diversity of our employees and works toward increasing representation at all levels within the firm. To achieve this, we recruit for the best talent in the marketplace, without regard to age, color, disability, gender, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, physical or mental disability, genetic predisposition or carrier status, veteran status, or any other legally protected category or class. OppenheimerFunds takes pride in having a diverse workforce. We believe that diversity and inclusion provide a competitive advantage in developing innovative solutions internally and for our clients, building lasting, impactful relationships within our communities, and making more informed decisions for our investors.

A Strategic Approach to Diversity & Inclusion

We are driven to be the best in all that we do, across all business lines, at every level and in every position.

  • Talent: Driving innovation through attracting, developing and retaining diverse talent.
  • Brand: Establishing the firm’s brand in the communities that we serve.
  • Culture: Creating a level playing field where every employee can thrive.
  • Client: Maximizing business opportunities through the lens of diversity and inclusion.

Business Resource Groups

OppenheimerFunds’ Business Resource Groups (BRGs) play a key role in the firm’s inclusion efforts by creating communities for diverse talent within the organization. For those employees who are not a member of the demographic the BRG represents, BRGs create opportunities for immersion in the culture, facilitating a connection to the experience of diverse employees in their communities and at the firm.

All BRGs play an active role in engaging members through strategic initiatives aligned to education, philanthropy, leadership, culture, professional development, and networking. The firm’s BRGs are also focused on engaging allies, recognizing their role in achieving our goals of diversity and inclusion.

Currently, OppenheimerFunds has invested in seven BRGs: the Asian Professionals Network, the Black Professionals Network, the Disabilities Network, the Latino Professionals Network, the Military Network, the LGBTQ+ Network, and the Women’s Network.

Our History

Founded in 1959, OppenheimerFunds is one of the most well-known and established asset-management firms in the United States. Clients trust us for our expertise in managing a broad range of U.S. and international investments—from stocks and bonds to alternative assets. Our capabilities span active management and smart-beta index strategies, and we serve individual and institutional investors, as well as the financial advisors, wealth managers, and consultants who advise them.

Our Culture

The investment business is one of ideas, so we prize our human capital—the source of our intellectual capital—as an indispensable asset.

  • High performance: Since our employees develop the strategies and solutions we deliver to our clients, we make a genuine effort to nurture their careers, help them develop professionally, and cultivate excellence.
  • Work and life: We work hard but also reward employees for their efforts, enable work/life balance, and offer an enjoyable and flexible work environment in which to thrive.
  • Accessibility: To us, accessibility not only means providing the technology that enables our employees to be productive from multiple locations. It also means that we have an open-door policy: People from all levels of the organization make themselves approachable to anyone else and are willing to provide support.

Corporate Values

OppenheimerFunds' Corporate Values form the foundation of how we conduct business and define the behaviors, attitudes and philosophies that guide our company. We are deeply committed to these values and aspire to incorporate them into everything we do.

We are driven to be the best in all that we do, across all business lines, at every level and in every position.

We recognize that our business and reputation are founded on acting in the best interest of our clients.

We believe that a team of people, working together, can reach better decisions than any individual working alone.

We approach our work with conviction and a strong desire to win, holding ourselves and each other accountable for our actions while continually seeking outstanding results.

Corporate Philanthropy

The Right Way to Give Back

In keeping with our investment philosophy of “The Right Way to Invest,” we believe the right way to give back is to place a high priority on supporting the communities where we live, work and do business. Toward that end, the firm’s management team and its employees actively support a range of organizations—whether through financial donations, partnerships, or paid time off to volunteer for civic, educational, environmental and other charitable causes.

Matching Gifts

Our Matching Gifts Program encourages employees to support charities of their choice by matching donations to qualified organizations, dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000 annually.

Volunteering Time Off

We encourage employees to take advantage of our Volunteer Time Off Program (VTOP), which grants each employee up to two paid days annually in support of diverse causes.

Our Partners

OppenheimerFunds is proud to partner with two exceptional organizations and provide employees with powerful ways to support the causes that fuel their passions outside the office.

The National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath) showcases a variety of exhibits and programs that engage students, with the goal of making math more fun and less intimidating. Through our MoMath partnership and volunteer missions abroad, we help prepare children for their future academic and professional lives by advancing their knowledge in math to be competitive and succeed. Our goal is to promote math literacy among 10,000 children worldwide by the year 2020.

A leader in the field of international volunteering, Cross-Cultural Solutions designs cultural exchange programs to achieve sustainable impact around the world through aid to communities at risk—and by increasing awareness of global issues affecting society. For the past several years, we have partnered with CCS to provide our employees with volunteering opportunities abroad in order to meet—and work alongside—the very people we help.
