The Interview Process

We want to make the application process as simple as possible for our candidates, which includes a streamlined application and the ability to apply via LinkedIn or other social media. Once you apply you will receive:

  1. An email stating your application was received
  2. An email when your application is in review
  3. Communication from the recruiter if you are a good match for the position

There are minimum qualifications and requirements for employment in any OppenheimerFunds position which include:

  1. All candidates must be over 18 and eligible to work in the United States – we are unable to sponsor you for a VISA at this time
  2. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a 10 year background check and drug screen
  3. Successfully passing personal and professional reference checks
  4. Some licensed positions require a credit check which checks for bankruptcies, liens or judgments

Resume Hints

Your resume is a reflection of you. It’s a reflection of your past accomplishments and experience, and of your ability to both effectively communicate and represent yourself. The following points will help you in writing a high impact resume that gets you noticed and gives recruiters and hiring managers the best possible impression of you!

A resume is:

  • A reason to learn more about you
  • A persuasive pitch
  • A living document
  • Simple – don’t overcomplicate it

A resume is not:

  • A memoir
  • A collection of job descriptions
  • A magic wand
  • “One-size-fits-all”

When you look at the job description make sure your resume reflects the skills that the role is looking for. When you put effort into your resume it shows.

Characteristics of a Strong Resumes

  • A High-impact Professional Summary
    • Eye-catching accomplishments, experiences and skills
    • Prompts audience to read more
    • Bullet form
  • Focus on accomplishments
    • Balance with responsibilities
    • Use ST-A-R format Situation/Task – Action – Result: tell us what you accomplished and how you were able to do it
    • Use action verbs, i.e. Improved, transformed, created
    • Quantify outcomes wherever possible

Agency Information

We currently employ a staff of internal recruiters, using a boutique model, to assist with our staffing and recruiting needs for full time placements. Occasionally there may be situations where the use of search firms or recruiting vendors is necessary and effective. Generally, this only occurs with positions that prove difficult to fill.

Due to the large number of solicitations we receive from recruiting vendors, OFI has established a single point of contact for our external recruiting vendors. We have partnered with RecruitAlliance to manage the recruitment process for all full time placement positions for which we have determined the need for external assistance.
